Derek Michael Races to the Top Prize!
August 17 - Enduro fans were rewarded with cool summer breezes and hot racing action Sunday for the second Enduro
Kansas event at 81 Speedway, Wichita. Derek Michael of Iola, Kansas outlasted the field to take the top prize of $1,000.
After 200 laps, Michael just edged Lance Crawford of Derby, Kansas in second place and Gary Wonders of Newton, Kansas for
third. After final tabulations, the top five places were only separated by five laps after racing for an hour
and forty-five minutes.
Chuckie Hurt and Dennis Junkins of Taloga, Oklahoma took fouth and
fifth places. The race was stopped briefly for 4 red flags, but racing action resumed quickly with fast work by
the push truck crews.
Following the event, a watermelon feed was held in the pit area and raffle
prizes were awarded to participants.

June 8 - Congratulations to Troy Case of Fairview, OK for winning the inaugural Enduro!
Kansas race on Sunday June 8 in Wichita. A small field did not diminish the excitement for fans as the lead cars raced
in close quarters for 200 laps. Several drivers were forced to pit for everything from blown tires to ruined radiators,
but returned to racing action. The lead changed many times over the course of the race, including a period of domination
by the 11 car of Lance Crawford of Derby, KS. Around lap 170, the left rear axle failed ending his day.
Case,
in the 29 car, and Gary Wonders in the 49A car raced for the lead for most of the day with Case edging Wonders by only 9 laps
after the final tally. Sam Schwebach in the 27 car finished in third place.
Fans and pits crews were rewarded
with great prizes provided by Coleman Company, Poorman Automotive Warehouse and Special T's Screen Printing. A special
award of $50 was sponsored to the leader at lap 50, 100 and 150 by Broadway Truck & Auto of Valley Center.
Other
awards were presented to the 9X of Rick Mueller for First Car Out, the 11 car for Hard Luck Award & the 29 car for the
Longest Pull Award.
Enduro! Kansas will hold the next event on August 10 at 81 Speedway Wichita. Check
